About us
Joy Hassall & Diane Hyde are an experienced accounting, tax and bookkeeping team providing personalised service to small business, individuals and investors in Melbourne’s Outer East.
We specialise in small business, from sole traders to companies and family trusts. We use all the popular accounting programs, including Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks, and assist with new business start ups.
Diane is a highly experienced Tax Accountant who has developed streamlined processes designed to simplify tax time for everyone (personal and business), including rental properties and share portfolios.
Hassall & Hyde is a “Chartered Accountants ANZ” practice. This means we are bound by the CA ANZ Code of Ethics and must comply with the highest professional standards. Our technical staff are highly trained and undergo a continuous program of professional development.

Diane is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience in Australia and internationally. She specialises in small business, investors, individuals/employees and superannuation funds.
Diane began her career working in small, medium and large businesses before moving to the accounting profession. As a result she has gained valuable experience in many business environments and expertise in accounting and taxation.
Through her exposure to a multitude of industries Diane has gained personal experience in:

Joy's career began in the UK where she managed a large cash office in the retail environment. This role involved processing thousands of pounds per day, with particular attention to security practices.
Since arriving in Melbourne in 1988, Joy has worked in Administration and Finance for a range of businesses from small one-man operations to large multi-national corporations. Her most recent roles include Finance Manager in a medium-sized, local business in Melbourne and Rescue Bookkeeper assisting a rapidly growing small business in desperate need of admin organisation.
Through working in a diverse range of industries Joy has gained personal experience in:
